This is a giraffe shoe that I made for a friend's Christmas present last year. I took a wooden shoe last and had Tony drill holes in the heel so that we could attach legs made out of crochet needles and then I painted it in a giraffe skin pattern in metallic gold and bronze. I submitted this to onemilliongiraffes but they rejected it on the grounds that they thought it was store-bought and not handmade. I don't know whether to feel insulted that they thought I would cheat or flattered that my little shoe looked so good that they thought it was store-bought.
